EQUATOR LLC Creating value by investing in ecosystems.

WHAT WE DO

EQUATOR specializes in the generation and management of high-quality carbon credits and environmental assets derived from reforestation, forest conservation and sustainable land management.

EQUATOR provides professional timberland investment origination, property acquisition, property management, and advisory services to timberland owners and investors throughout the Americas.

EQUATOR uses state-of-the-art financial structuring techniques to create diversified revenue streams that benefit the companies, governments, land owners and local communities who are our clients and partners.

HOW WE GOT STARTED

EQUATOR was founded as an independent enterprise by the same individuals that created Chatham Energy Partners, LLC; one of the largest energy derivatives companies in the USA. Two of Chatham’s principals and an environmental entrepreneur joined forces with Latin American forestry and banking specialists to create new value in emerging environmental markets.

EQUATOR is headquartered in New York City, with offices in São Paulo and Minas Gerais, Brazil.

DOING OUR PART: SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL GOALS

EQUATOR is dedicated to sustaining natural systems and improving the quality of life of communities in our project areas. Equator builds long-term business relationships with communities and utilizes public-private partnerships, collaborations with non-profits, 3rd-party sustainability certification systems and other strategies to achieve these goals.
